The Pierre School District held its annual new teacher in-service Thursday, Aug. 13, 2026. The new-to-Pierre teachers this year are Tara Wallman, Gracie Goode, Danae Paxton, Michelle DeBoer, Jodi Baumberger, Tyson Johnson, Steven Fullerton, Carter VanHouten, and Erik Richter.

Governors, are you registered for school? Our teachers and staff are geared up, classrooms are ready, and we're counting down the days until we see you on August 19th. Let's make this our best year yet!

Dr. Donavan DeBoer is the new Superintendent of the Pierre School District. Dr. DeBoer began his duties on July 1st. Dr. DeBoer is originally from Chamberlain and has served in Wood, Winner, Newell, Rapid City, Parker, and Dell Rapids before being hired as the Superintendent for the Pierre School District.

Madisyn (Neibauer) Rabern was sworn in as the newest member of the Pierre School Board on June 29th. Madisyn was elected to the Pierre School Board in early June. Madisyn has replaced Dan Cronin on the board, and she was previously an elementary educator in the Pierre School District. We are excited to have Madisyn back working to support the students and staff of the Pierre School District!

Online Student Registration and Activity Registration is open for parents and guardians of students currently enrolled in the Pierre School District, as well as those wishing to enroll their children in the district for the upcoming school year.  Instructions on completing student registration can be found on our Enrollment/Registration Web Page.  The webpage also contains general back-to-school information families will need to prepare for the start of the school year.
