Welcome to the Pierre School District: Home of the Governors!

Pierre School District 32-2 is more than a place where students learn. It is a community where children are known, supported, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential. Serving approximately 2,700 students in five schools, our district combines the opportunities of a larger school system with the personal connections and sense of belonging that families value most. From our three elementary schools to Georgia Morse Middle School and T.F. Riggs High School, students benefit from strong academics, dedicated educators, competitive activities, and a culture that encourages every child to succeed.

One of the most unique aspects of living in Pierre is our location along the beautiful Missouri River. Lake Oahe and Lake Sharpe provide a stunning backdrop for daily life and endless opportunities for recreation. It's not uncommon for families to spend their evenings on the water, fishing from the shore, kayaking along the river, or enjoying a sunset boat ride. For many who move to Pierre, the river quickly becomes one of their favorite parts of calling this community home.

Families enjoy more than 50 miles of trails and pathways, beautiful parks, camping areas, golf courses, hunting and fishing opportunities, and year-round recreational activities.
