T.F. Riggs High School
Welcome all students and families to T.F. Riggs High School! Whether you are new to our school or returning, I hope you share in the enthusiasm of a new year and the potential it holds. Our desire is to make the year memorable and a positive experience for all, striving to help you achieve your potential and personal goals.
We take great pride with the many opportunities and avenues for students to participate, grow, learn, and experience success. The numerous opportunities provided to students are to help each student find their strengths and interests to build upon, but also working to help students receive a well-rounded education. We are proud to offer a variety of classes and learning opportunities for all students at all readiness levels. Beyond core classes, students have the opportunities for dual credit, Advanced Placement courses, and Career and Technical Education classes to enhance their exposure, find interests, and build upon personal knowledge. There are numerous extra-curricular opportunities in fine arts, athletics, student organizations and clubs that provide students with avenues to grow and learn academically, socially, and emotionally. The success of students in all these avenues speak strongly to the involvement of students, staff, parents, and community members. Student engagement, involvement, and attendance will always play a critical role in maximizing successes in the numerous opportunities presented for each student. Engagement and involvement help students build confidence, master concepts, and learn more about their interests and strengths. Being present and involved will provide each student with a foundation for success in years to come.
The mission statement of T.F. Riggs High School is "to provide students with the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes to become life-long learners and productive members of society." Included in the mission are the following beliefs:

- Students learn best when they have appropriate opportunities for success and are actively engaged in the learning process.
- A student's self-esteem is enhanced by positive relationships and mutual respect among students and staff.
- The school should promote student learning by providing a safe and physically comfortable environment.
