Welcome to Jefferson Elementary School!

It is my pleasure to serve as the Principal of Jefferson Elementary within the Pierre School District. Our dedicated staff is honored to work alongside our students and families to help every student reach their highest potential. We are committed to fostering a culture of respect, excellence, and learning. At Jefferson, through a student-centered approach, every student is encouraged to learn and grow each day through engaging teacher-led activities, collaborative projects, independent work, exploration, and play.

Daily attendance is essential to student success. When students are present, they unlock new ideas, skills, and opportunities that shape their future, they gain access to a plethora of knowledge and learning that builds their confidence, curiosity, and future success. Classroom discussions, interactions, and hands-on activities create a dynamic learning environment that can't be replicated elsewhere. Regular attendance builds comprehension, boosts participation, and helps students develop the discipline needed for lifelong success. We ask that you make school attendance a priority for your child.

At Jefferson Elementary, our students are active learners, compassionate leaders, and respectful members of our school community. We believe in fostering a Positive Growth Mindset, where effort and perseverance lead to improvement and success.
